Mally smiles coyly at June and says, "It's not just Ine's soup you want, is it?" June frowns and says, "What's that supposed to mean." Mally smiles and holds a finger to her chin, pretending to think, and says, "He was kinda cute in those swim trunks." June suddenly looks panicked and, grits her teeth, and holds up her hands, saying, "Hnng, shhhhh!!! Are you crazy??" Mally laughs and points at her saying, "Not as crazy as you are for Lizard Boy!" June looks annoyed and rolls her eyes, saying, "Oh, or the love..." Mally turns back to her food, giggles, and says, "Sorry Chica. You want that recipe? You've got to go get it yourself." June glares at her, and then turns and walks away, throwing her hands up in the air with a sigh and saying, "Fine. Thanks for nothing, Bird Brain." Mally just smiles and waves a feather in the air, singing, "You'll thank me later!"

I got a new comic lettering font not too long ago, which turned out to be useful for this page in particular. It’s one that Blambastic (by Blambot) looks just a tad off-kilter, which happens to work great for when a character is yelling or otherwise stressed. In addition, it has two slightly different versions of each glyph, which is handy for words or exclamations that have the same letter twice in a row, or for using multiple of the same punctuation mark. Look closely at June’s exclamation in the second panel, and you’ll see what I mean. It looks better than if every N, H, and exclamation point looked exactly the same. Lettering is an art all on its own, and I’m still very much a novice! But whenever I learn a simple trick like this one, I try to be on the lookout for opportunities to use them!
