Ine's car is parked in a driveway. As he gets out, Ine's younger brother greets him, running towards him. Mark is also a lizard and has feathers on his head and the tip of his tail like Ine, but also on his arms. Mark calls out, "Ine! Ine, you're back!" Ine waves and says, "Hey Mark! Sure am, Bud!" As Mark gets nearer, Ine folds his arms and smiles slyly. "And that means…" Ine grabs Mark and begins rubbing his knuckles across his head, causing a few small feathers to fly loose. "Feather noogie!!" Ine says. Mark winces and pushes Ine away. "Ouch! Hey, leggo!!" Frowning, Mark rubs his head and asks, "Why do you always do that when you come visit?" Ine smirks and says, "Cuz that's what big brothers are for. Why do you always come running if you know it's coming?" Mark smiles and punches Ine on the side. "Cuz that's what little brothers are for," he says. Ine rubs his head and says, "I've trained you well."
Lark says…
The first look at Ine’s immediate family: his little brother, another feather-head, named Mark. I have two younger brothers of my own. Mark represents a little of both of them. I like being a big bro. ♥ I wasn’t exactly a big kid growing up, so it felt nice to have someone else looking up to me for a change once in a while! Likewise, Ine enjoys being the bigger one, and takes advantage when he can!
Actually, this page has confused a few people over the years because I was still getting used to drawing Ine in a consistent way. His appearance in this page looks a lot older than on previous pages, especially standing next to his younger brother. This led some readers to think that Ine was the smaller one and that his brother, Mark, was the taller one… which would make him rather giant! But one way to tell Ine and Mark apart if you’re having trouble is by scales and feathers: Mark has lighter, more yellow-green colored scales and no stripes, and he also has feathers on his arms, while Ine doesn’t.
This page was originally meant to be a sort of “filler page” to separate the first chapter from the next, but after this chapter I went back to using Q&A pages to separate chapters instead. Fortunately, this page works reasonably well as a part of the chapter itself since the page before it shows Ine on his way home, and this one shows him arriving.

Noogies are the ultimate display of brotherly affection among lizards… and most other species that have knuckles.
