Flying on Fumes 12

Transcript

A series of panels starts completely black, then gets progressively lighter, revealing the blurred image of a living room. Kraal's shaky voice can be seen saying, "Uuuhh...? Wh... where...?" The blurry image of Chris leans in, smiling and handing Kraal a pair of glasses and saying, "Hey, look who's finally up!" The next frame, now clear, shows Kraal lying on the couch with a blanket over him. He accepts his glasses and asks, "Wha... what happened?" Chris smiles nonchalantly and says, "You fell asleep in the middle of our game." Kraal glances around, looking confused, and says, "...How did I end up on the couch?" Chris smirks and says, "I mean, you're not that heavy."

Lark

Bro, do you even lift… your featherweight of a roommate onto the couch?

Behind the Scenes

I believe this was the first comic page that I started working on with my new Samsung tablet. I’m not sponsored or anything, but so far I’ve been a fan. I still use my primary computer to do most of the work. But more than anything, it’s just nice to have something I can carry around with me that has Clip Studio already installed on it, so if I ever have some down time I can whip it out and start working on some sketches or coloring.

That’s not to say that you need any specific device in order to be creative. I’m a big advocate for using what you have in whatever situation you happen to be in. To this day I still carry around a tiny pocket sketchbook so I always have at least something I can draw on. When it comes to getting a bigger, nicer, more expensive tool, I would actually advocate for waiting on it until you are sure you will make enough use out of it. Because remember, it’s not the tool that will make you a good artist. Establish the habit of creating with what you already have first, then a good tool can make that process even easier.
